Howden Private Wealth announces key management promotions to drive growth

Hong Kong, 18 March: Howden, the global insurance intermediary group, today announces key internal promotions in its Private Wealth management team as Bryan Pee and Shirley Sy step up to new roles. These changes reflect Howden Private Wealth’s commitment to investing in home-grown talent and expertise for the benefit of its high-net-worth clients. 

Howden Private Wealth has grown substantially, with a 45% year-on-year increase in policies written in 2024, by delivering exceptional service and expertise to clients worldwide. Howden Private Wealth has placed over US$50 billion in life insurance coverage globally and more than US$1.5 billion in new premiums annually.

Bryan Pee, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore and Malaysia
Effective 10 March, Bryan Pee has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Singapore and Malaysia. Bryan’s appointment follows his impressive leadership since joining Howden in September 2023 as Head of the Singapore and Malaysia offices. With a background in senior management at Credit Suisse, Bryan has been instrumental in driving significant growth and success for Howden in the region. In his new role, Bryan will oversee several teams and will also become a member of Howden Private Wealth’s Executive Committee, where he will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the division’s strategic direction.

Shirley Sy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong
Shirley Sy has been promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, effective January 1, 2025.  Shirley has played a key role in Howden Private Wealth’s growth and operational excellence. Initially joining in 2011 as New Business Manager, Shirley was promoted to Head of Operations in 2014.Shirley’s deep knowledge of the Hong Kong market and strong relationships with major insurers, underwriters, and reinsurers have made her an invaluable asset to Howden. In her new role, Shirley will continue to lead Howden’s Hong Kong operations while also taking on a key responsibility for partnership engagement.
